If there is any fruit that you should consume all year round in every stage of your life then amla should be your first choice. Since you can’t have fresh amla all year, people use amla powder in summers & monsoon season to reap the benefits out of this medicinal yet nutritious fruit. Amla is a potent source of iron, calcium, vitamin C and other nutrients.

Uses:

It is best to consume one amla or two raw after your wake up or after your workout to detoxify and enrich your body but you take juice up 3-4 amla’s and drink it up first thing in the morning. You can use the waste in making chutney or have it in salad during breakfast or lunch.

Amba haldi or ambiya haldi as we know looks like ginger but this one is yellow from the inside. You can get it only in winters & there are great benefits of this amazing herb. Amba haldi is rich in anti – oxidants and has anti microbial properties, also it has very strong antibiotic properties.

Uses: Ideal intake of amba haldi is 4 grams. One can consume amba haldi with hot milk, butter milk or eat raw. You can use mixture of milk & amba haldi on your face to have a glowing and flawless skin. It helps with a deep sleep & it is best to consume it with hot milk at night.

Uses: You can soak almonds & fig overnight and eat it in the morning pre or post workout with or without milk. Pistachio & walnuts can be replaced as munchies during the day time.

Dates are probably the sweetest fruit. Apart from its high significance in Islam, It has many health benefits. One can eat dates fresh but mostly we eat it dried. Dates contains calcium, sulfur, iron, potassium, manganese, copper & various vitamins, minerals, fiber to keep us healthy.

Uses:

One can have typically 7-10 dates a day. You can have dates with milk, yoghurt  or butter. I would recommend dates as  a pre/post workout or before sleeping with a glass of milk.

A fun fact about saffron is that it is the most expensive spice due to its procurement and its nutritional benefits. In India it is majorly produced in Kashmir and southern part of India. Saffron has many nutritional & healing properties. It is recommended to have saffron only in winters or in the cold areas. Saffron’s unique organic composition makes it a must add to our daily diet intake. Saffron contains many antioxidants, biochemicals, carotenoids and many essential vitamins & minerals.

Uses:
